Welcoming our new Chair, Niki Russell

The New Zealand Nutrition Foundation has appointed Niki Russell as the new Chair to the Board.

Niki is a Registered Dietitian and is the business owner of Nutrition Care Ltd. Niki has worked in New Zealand and overseas as a dietitian in clinical nutrition and food service management. She works across a wide range of dietetic specialties including:

• Nutrition for the older person and provides a nutrition advisory service to rest homes and hospitals.
• Nutrition and Cancer
• Prediabetes, diabetes, heart disease
• Weight management
• Nutrition for families

Niki has worked closely with medical centres to provide nutrition consultancy as part of their diabetes management programmes in primary care. She delivers nutrition education sessions to local organisations including NGO’s, government departments, residential facilities including rest homes and group home providers. Niki provides dietitian consultancy services to ACC. She is a dietitian prescriber.

Niki is looking towards maintaining NZNF’s broad reach and to be a trusted source of evidence based nutritional information that is easily accessible to all New Zealanders.

She is looking forward to working with the board and staff to review and refine the strategy with the aim to make it appropriate for now and for the next 5-10 years.

We also welcome Carol Wham to the position of Scientific Director and media spokesperson and Geoff Kira to the Board to join Justin Alblas, Niki Bezzant and Mindy Wigzell.
