Bupa Just Cook Healthy Ageing Update

The New Zealand Nutrition Foundation has completed its sixth and final programme at the Hugh Green facility in Albany, Auckland. All the participants enjoyed these programmes.

Comments from the latest programme on what parts of the programme participants found most valuable:

‘All parts very valuable – reading the menus and following the instructions and experiencing how things should be done.  Also ensuring all ingredients are in place (preparation) before commencing cooking.’

‘Watching the demonstrations was very motivating!  The communal cooking was wonderful!  Introducing new meal ideas.  The tuna pie was a favourite.  The food knowledge aspect was great.’

After months of running programmes at Hugh Green we have interest for future courses.

The third programme at Fergusson Village, Upper Hutt is underway with dates set for the final 3 programmes commencing 20 July, 12 October, and 16 November 2023. We are very lucky to have Sue Lindsay, a trained Dietitian with a special interest in nourishing communities well, as our Wellington Just Cook Healthy Ageing facilitator.

The third programme at Ascot Village, Invercargill has also just started. Gillian Brock is very well connected in her community and is doing a marvellous job delivering the programme to people in need.
