Implementation of the updated Health Star Rating (HSR) system continues to be a priority for the government throughout 2022. The Front of Pack Labelling (FoPL) Secretariat is working with industry, public health, consumers and government to increase understanding of the system, communicate recent changes and encourage uptake on labels by the food industry. The implementation period for food manufacturers and retailers to update product labels (as per the outcomes of the HSR Five Year Review) ends on the 14th November 2022, noting there are some exceptions. Stronger awareness of upcoming changes will be beneficial for both the industry and consumers. As such, the FoPL Secretariat has prepared the attached two factsheets:
