Feeding the team of 5 million 5 serves of vegetables a day?

Historically and now it is argued, from an economic perspective, that the production of vegetables should meet both domestic and global demand. From a public health point of view, this would mean domestic production matching the dietary guidelines including sustainability and variety. How do we match up?
